Alice was the beloved wife of late John Verduyn (1992) and late Alvin Marr (2008). She was a loving mother to Marianne (Dave), John (Kim), Lisa (Ken) Gilbert, and Brian (Julie). Alice was also a loving grandmother to Amanda, Arika, Elisha, Josh, Levi, Davis, Adriane, and Brooke, and a great-grandmother to Olivia, Addison, Gwyneth, Freya, Jackob, Jarrett, and Jasmine. She will be dearly missed by her family, numerous nieces and nephews, the Marr family, and the many friends she made throughout her life. Alice had a variety of passions in life. Her family came first, but she also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening. She even had a greenhouse business. Alice actively participated in the community as a longstanding member of the South Brant Lioness Club, Scotland United Church Women’s Group, and the Faith Sewing Group in Brantford, where she sewed numerous quilts. Her soup-making skills were renowned.

Family and friends will gather at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, located at 134 King Street, Burford, on September 1, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place at Scotland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory may be made to the Faith Sewing Group or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
