Aline Marie Marguerite (née Caron) BONDY

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Aline Bondy, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by love, on May 16, 2024 at 90 years of age.

Born in Paincourt (Chatham), she was the second eldest of Alexina and Alcide Caron’s five daughters: Dr. Marie-Thérèse Caron (d. 1988); Lucile Caron (d. 2020); Louise Olsen (Jack), and Dr. Anne-Marie Caron-Réaume (Mary Lou Soutar-Hynes).

Aline was the precious wife of the late Ernest R.J. Bondy (2000). She was the cherished mother of Jean Paul “Jay”, Michel “Mitch” (Suzanne), Marc (Mary Beth), Louis, Denise Meloche (Chris), Bernard, and Rosaire (Tammy). She was the adored Mémé of Clark (Katie), Madeleine, Matthew (Sara), Marshall (Kasandra), Mackenzie (Ian), Brandon (Marianna), Melanie (Rob), Chas, Troy (Marissa), Trevor, the late Lauren (2017), and Nicole. Beloved great grand-mémé of Macallan, Easton, Evan, Nolie, Mei, Theo, Emery, Charlie, Blair and Travis. Predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Marie-Thérèse McGuire and Antoinette Monette (Marc).

Aline and Ernest were the founding partners of Bondy Insurance. Together they built a successful family business that continues today. Aline’s love of travel took her to many countries around the world. She and Ernest spent their winters in Florida, where they enjoyed playing golf and games with family and friends. As a former teacher, she was a strong believer in the value of education. She always encouraged her family to be the best they could be! She had a deep faith, a love of music and an enormous pride in her French Canadian heritage. Family was the joy and the centre of her life. Nothing made Aline happier than spending time with her grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Village at St Clair for their care. Thank you also to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor for their support. Special thanks to Marie-Thérèse from Amy’s Helping Hands for her exceptional care, compassion and love for Aline over many years.

In kindness memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Church Building Fund or to the Lauren Bondy Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family.
