Allen Donald Coombes, born on July 11, 1934, in Rossland, S.C., peacefully passed away on July 3, 2023, in West Vancouver, B.C. Surrounded by his loving wife, Jillian (Jill), Allen leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. His memory will forever be cherished by his 4 children: Andrea (Keith), Donald (Kristy), David (Susan), and Doug, as well as his 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Allen’s professional journey began with his studies in Forestry at the University of Idaho, followed by a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Oregon. He went on to become a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in British Columbia. Allen’s forestry career flourished, starting in Nelson and progressing through positions in Prince George, Kamloops, New Brunswick, and eventually Williams Lake, where he held the role of Vice-President at Weldwood of Canada, now known as Fraser Timber.

After retiring, Allen and Jill embarked on a remarkable 20-year adventure exploring various corners of the world. Traveling became their passion, allowing them to immerse themselves in different cultures. During their leisure time, Allen also indulged in his hobbies of gardening and woodworking, nurturing his love for nature and craftsmanship.

In the near future, a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held to honor and remember Allen Coombes, a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the world.
