Alma CLARK

Alma Margarette Clark (nee Pinder), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, passed away on July 11, 2023, at Kelvindell Lodge in Kelvington, SK. At the time of her passing, Alma was surrounded by her sons, finding solace in their presence and serenading herself with a heartfelt melody. Her departure was a result of a condition related to her age.

Born on October 22, 1939, in Springside, SK, Alma was the daughter of Clifford and Jessie Pinder. She pursued her passion for education after completing her studies at Teachers College in Moose Jaw, SK. Alma’s first teaching role was at Kelvington Public School, where she forged a deep appreciation for music. As a skilled pianist, she imparted her knowledge and love of music to countless students over the years. It was in Kelvington that Alma’s path intersected with Leslie Clark, who would become the love of her life. They married in August of 1961 and settled in Kelvington, raising their three sons, Donn, Wendel, and Kerry. Alongside Leslie, Alma labored tirelessly on their family-owned farm, Clearfield Farms. In her spare moments away from overseeing meals for farmhands or procuring tractor parts, Alma could often be found at the rink, enthusiastically cheering on her boys. Additionally, she relished the summers spent at their cottage near Greenwater Lake, reveling in the magnificent surroundings. Alma’s unwavering support and strength were the bedrock of her family. In their later years, Alma and Leslie sought respite from the Saskatchewan winters by spending time in the Grand Bahamas and making a pit stop in Ontario to visit their sons. Alma eventually found her final abode at Kelvindell Lodge, where engaging in Bingo games and sharing coffee moments with friends brought her immense joy.

Alma was predeceased by her husband, Les Clark, in 2009, her eldest son Donn Clark in 2019, and her brother Lyle Pinder in 1994. She leaves behind a lasting legacy as a devoted mother. Alma is survived by her sons Wendel (Denise) Clark and Kerry (Natalie) Clark, as well as her daughter-in-law Betty Clark, who mourns the loss of their beloved mother. She will forever be cherished as a loving grandmother by Jessica, Emily, Kylie, Kassidy, Kody, Cassidy, and Briana. Alma held a special place in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, and numerous cherished friends. She is also survived by her brother Leith (June) Pinder and sister-in-law Beth (Don) Scott.

Alma’s indomitable spirit, innate generosity, passion for music, and infectious smile will always be remembered. A Come and Go Gathering, Celebrating Alma, will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Greenwater Recreation Hall in Greenwater Provincial Park, Saskatchewan.
