Amber Hope Antone, a resident of Oneida Nation, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at St. Thomas Hospital after a brave battle. She was 43 years old at the time of her passing. Amber was the cherished daughter of Mary Smith and the late Douglas Elliott Antone. She was a beloved mother to Douglas, Jocelyn, Austin, Jenelle, and Opal, and a loving grandmother to Zoey, Lilly, and Aubrey. Amber was also a dear sister to Shelley Smith, JoJo Antone, and the late Anna Antone. Her passing was deeply felt by her special niece, Brandee Ninham, and her aunt, Jacquie Ninham. Additionally, she is survived by numerous extended family members, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her mother-in-law Stephanie Smith, and her sisters-in-law April and Brenda Antone. Sadly, she was predeceased by her grandpa Duke and auntie Goldie Deleary. Friends and loved ones will have the opportunity to pay their respects at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. The Celebration of Amber’s life will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m., followed by her interment at First Oneida Baptist Cemetery.

The Celebration of Amber’s life will take place the following day at 2 p.m., and she will be laid to rest at the First Oneida Baptist Cemetery.

Their presence brought immense joy to her life, and she embraced the role of grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Zoey, Lilly, and Aubrey. Amber shared a special bond with her sister, Shelley Smith, and her brother, JoJo Antone. Unfortunately, she experienced the loss of her late sister, Anna Antone. She was also a close niece to Jacquie Ninham and was considered a “sister” to Brandee Ninham. In addition to these family members, Amber leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her mother-in-law, Stephanie Smith. April and Brenda Antone, her sisters-in-law, were also an important part of her life. Her family will gather at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home on the evening of November 1, 2023, to receive condolences from 7-9 p.m. The Celebration of Amber’s life will take place the following day at 2 p.m., with her final resting place at the First Oneida Baptist Cemetery.
