Anthony OLSEN

OLSEN, Anthony Joseph “Tony”

Anthony Joseph Olsen, widely known as Tony, was born on October 24, 1954, in Fredericton NB. Tragically, he passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario after battling with Mesothelioma. Despite his brave fight against the disease, Tony eventually succumbed to complications associated with it.

Tony leaves behind a loving family, including his three children, Anthony, Jennifer, and Kyle. He is also survived by his brother Carl, as well as three sisters named Gertrude (Sue), Pamela, and Patricia. Additionally, Tony will forever be remembered and cherished by his nieces, nephews, and friends across Canada. Sadly, he was predeceased by his parents Carl and Yolanda, his sister Ruth, and his beloved niece Michelle.

Throughout his life, Tony embarked on various travels as a Leak Repair Specialist, gaining a reputation of having been “everywhere.” He had a profound love for exploration and learning, which he took great pleasure in wherever he went. Tony embraced life fully and found happiness in the simplest of things. Notably, he had a passion for football, particularly the CFL, and would passionately discuss its virtues with anyone who would lend an ear. Boating and reminiscing about classic cars were also dear to his heart. Behind his gruff exterior, Tony always wore a genuine smile that radiated warmth and sincerity.

In honoring Tony’s memory, there will not be a formal service at this time. Instead, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, while simultaneously raising a toast to celebrate Tony’s remarkable life.
