It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Aurore, who peacefully left this world at the Geraldton District Hospital on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Born in 1924 to Luc and Marianna Ricard, Aurore lived a remarkable 99 years before her departure. She is preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Roland Legendre in 1996 and Aime Duguay in 1966.
Aurore was a devoted mother to Ronald Duguay, who is survived by his loving wife Dianne Brunelle, residing in Espanola. Sadly, she also lost her sons Hector and Maurice Duguay, who were both married to Mary and Jane respectively. Aurore had a special place in her heart for her stepchildren Michelle Turgeon and Georgette Smith. She shared a close bond with her late stepchildren Lorraine, Leo, and Eddy Legendre. Aurore is now joyfully reunited with her brother Leo and sisters Jeannette, Lucille, Rita, Jeanne, Fernande, and Claire.
Throughout her life, Aurore found great pleasure in fishing, engaging in amusing food fights, playing practical jokes, and occasionally removing her slipper. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her cherished family. Aurore was surrounded by a century of love, which included her grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate healthcare professionals, nurses, personal support workers, and doctors at the Geraldton District Hospital for their exceptional care.
Aurore will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Geraldton District Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00pm in the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home chapel. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects on the same day between 12:00 noon and 1:45pm at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, located at 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
