Aussie Munn

Rev. Aussie Oland Munn, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Aussie was born in Hazelton, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 29, 1936, son of John and Emily (Price) Munn.

Aussie attended school in Black’s Harbor and enlisted in the Canadian Army. Following his service he graduated from the United Pentecostal Bible Institute of Canada, Class of 1964. On July 6, 1964, he married the love of his life, Geraldine Tracy. Aussie was the Pastor for the Campobello Island United Pentecostal Church and in 1967 started the United Pentecostal Church in Houlton, ME. In 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a medic until 1978. He served as Home Missionary Pastor of Faith Chapel in Delta Junction, Alaska until taking up church planting work in Manitoba. Following his ministry there, Aussie returned to Maine. Aussie served as Pastor in Rockland, ME, while earning his college degree in Social Services from the University of Maine. Aussie and Geraldine moved to Fort Kent where he was the Pastor for Apostolic Church until they relocated to Kennet, Missouri to be the Pastor of Calvary Apostolic Church. At the age of 65, Aussie retired and they moved back to Maine and New Brunswick where he filled in at local churches such as the Full Gospel Assembly in Eastport, Maine, and the Honeydale Pentecostal Church in New Brunswick. Aussie was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed collecting hockey cards and paraphernalia.

In addition to his parents John and Emily Munn, Aussie was predeceased by a sister, Martha Rushton; and three brothers, Walter, Randolph, and Perley Munn.

Surviving are his beloved wife of over 59 years, Geraldine Munn; a son Dennis Munn and wife Roxanne of Attleboro, MA; granddaughter Shannon Munn and great-granddaughter Eloise Ryder, both of Fredericton, NB; and a brother Cecil Munn and wife Edna of Ludlow, NB.

A Homegoing Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023, at The Refuge Church, 175 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Calais Cemetery in Calais, ME. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais, ME.
