Barbara Alcorn Rolls

Barbara Joan Alcorn Rolls, a beloved mother, singer-musician, and entertainer, has departed from us. She peacefully passed away on May 13th, 2020, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, showcasing her beauty, intelligence, wit, and captivating talents both in public and within her cherished private moments.

Born on June 30th, 1932, in Prince Edward Island to Ernest and Hazel (MacCallum) Alcorn, Barbara leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt. She will be greatly missed by her children: Mary-Ellen Dawson, Mary (Robert) Helie, Elizabeth (Ted) Landry, and Marty Rolls. Additionally, Barbara’s legacy is carried on by her grandchildren: Tara, Ashley, Matthew, Austin, Bobbi-Lynn, and Mark, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service to honor Barbara will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1:00 pm at St. Martin’s in the Woods Anglican Church, located at 3394 Rte 134, Shediac Cape. Following the service, a lunch will be served, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather and reminisce.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay tribute to Barbara’s musical legacy may make donations to either the music/theatre department at Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, NB, the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, ON, or any organization of their choice. Barbara’s impact on the world of music will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
