Barbara Moreland

Barbara Lousie Moreland, born on October 31, 1951, tragically passed away on November 1, 2023, at the age of 72. It is with deep sorrow that we announce her sudden departure. Barbara was lovingly preceded in death by her parents, Bayne Moreland and Mae Moreland (Simpson), as well as her older sister Linda Hodge and brother-in-law Jim Shamess. She leaves behind her sister Joan Shamess, brother-in-law Charlie Hodge, and her nephew and nieces David, Susan, and Jennifer Hodge.

Throughout her life, Barbara dedicated her time and energy to Community Living and YWC Co-op, where she formed enduring friendships. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Providence Manor for their exceptional care during the past 12 years.

In honor of Barbara’s memory, a private family interment will take place, preceded by her cremation. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the James Reid Funeral Home located at 1900 John Counter Blvd (reception entrance at rear).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or UFKH (Providence Manor Building Fund).
