Bernard LENTZ

Bernard Lentz, age 88, of Ponoka County, passed away on October 8, 2023. He was born on February 27, 1935. Bernard attended Manito School in Hobbema (Maskwacis) and later bussed to school in Ponoka. He had a happy childhood and enjoyed being active, participating in activities such as fishing, skating, and playing hockey.

From a young age, Bernard worked on the farm along with his sisters and developed a passion for farm life. Throughout the years, he dedicated his time to volunteering at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, Leduc West Antique Society, and participating in various tractor shows. In June 1957, Bernard married Irma, and together they created many memories and traveled extensively. Bernard is survived by his wife Irma, daughters Barbara (Paul) Scott and Lorna (Mark) Shannon, as well as their grandchildren.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Bernard’s life was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on October 17, 2023, followed by the Interment Service at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, Northcott Care Centre, or the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society. Bernard was beloved by many and will be deeply missed.
