Betsy Morrow peacefully passed away on July 27th, 2023 in Vancouver, B.C. She was born in Vancouver on May 17, 1938. Betsy is survived by her three children, Jill (Richard), Bruce (Cynthia), and Karen (Jason), and her four grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Cameron, and Kayla. Her sister Mary and brother Jim also survive her, while she was predeceased by her brother Dean. Throughout her life, Betsy devoted herself to her family, cooking, sailing, sewing, and spending summers at the family cottage on the Sunshine Coast. Her love for traveling began at the age of 50 when she participated in a teacher exchange program in South Australia. After retiring, she continued exploring the world and visited more than a dozen countries. Betsy actively supported the Friends of the Garden (FOG) at UBC and will be remembered for her contagious energy and sense of humor. Her grandchildren cherish the memories of their summers filled with crafts and exciting challenges on rainy days. Betsy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Betsy’s life will take place at Knox United Church, 5590 Balaclava St, Vancouver, BC on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. In honor of Betsy’s wishes, memorial contributions to The Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated instead of sending flowers.
