Bonny-Ann GREAVETT
Bonny-Ann Greavett, age 74, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023, after bravely battling cancer. She is survived by her dedicated husband Gerry, her daughter Laurie (Trevor Hamilton), her son Jay (Cathy), and her cherished grandchildren Griffin, Reide, Olivia, Joshua, and Lauren. Additionally, Bonny is survived by her sister Debby (Gilbert), brother-in-law Terry, sister-in-law Julie, cousin Bob Lamont, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her brother Richard, brother-in-law Nelson, mother Rosemary, and father Raymond.
Bonny was a woman of many roles and touched the lives of countless individuals. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister and aunt, a dedicated educator, and a dear friend to many. Bonny’s passion for teaching spanned over 34 years, earning her a fond place in the hearts of her former students and colleagues alike. Throughout her career, she actively participated in various teacher organizations and generously volunteered her time for charitable causes.
Spending quality time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren, brought Bonny immense joy. She relished in the simple pleasures of sharing meals, playing card games, and basking in the warmth of family gatherings at her beloved cottage. Bonny also cherished the company of her “girls,” enjoying lunches and weekend getaways with her close friends.
A drop-in Celebration of Bonny’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, as well as the PSW’s, the staff on Davies 4, Kidd 10, and at the Cancer Centre for their compassionate care and support. In remembrance of Bonny, the family kindly requests charitable donations to Breast Cancer Action Kingston (BCAK), in lieu of flowers.
