Brian COSGROVE

Brian Francis Cosgrove, aged 79, passed away peacefully in Kingston, Ontario before sunrise on August 17, 2023, after a brief illness. Survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Marie Barrett, he leaves behind his children Richard, Sherry, and Devon Leigh, as well as his grandchildren Jack, Matthew, Adam, Marten, Colin, Ella, Liam, Claire, Monica, Mikayla, Matthew, and Cameron. Brian also had a profound impact on the life of Liezl Laporte, and was cherished by his siblings John, Eric, Mary Louise, Frances, and Kathryn, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. His dedication to his community and country, along with his unwavering support for his loved ones, will forever be remembered.

The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at KGH, particularly the internal medicine team on Kidd 10, for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Robert J. Reid Funeral Home – “The Chapel on the Corner”, 309 Johnson Street, Kingston, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 24. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s Cathedral Kingston would be greatly appreciated. Brian passed away fortified by the last Sacraments of Our Holy Mother Church, and though the family is heartbroken, they choose to celebrate his life with fervor.

Brian Francis Cosgrove, lovingly remembered, will forever be cherished for the legacy of devotion he leaves behind – a legacy that encompasses both his service to his community and country, as well as his unwavering support for his family and friends.
