C. Wayne Minielly

1941

2023

With a heavy heart, the family of Wayne Minielly sadly announces his passing on October 2, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Wayne, an indomitable spirit, took charge of his own obituary, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and determination. After living through 82 revolutions around the sun, Wayne believed that his mission on Earth had come to an end. He leaves behind his beloved wife Carolyn (nee Elliott), and their two grown children, Tyler (Sara) of Sarnia and Amanda (Jeremy) of Petawawa. Tyler and Sara have blessed them with two beautiful granddaughters, Isabel and Lilly. Wayne is survived by his siblings Ivan (Florrie), Clare (Jane), Royce, Elaine Morgan (Raymond), and sister-in-law Betty (Allan’s wife). Sadly, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers Allan and Ross, together with Allan’s wife Caroline, and Royce’s wife Marilyn.

Wayne and Carolyn embarked on their journey of exploration in 1989 with a transformative trip to Greece. This experience ignited a deep passion for world travel, leading them to visit multiple countries across all continents. Their most extraordinary adventure was a thrilling three-week expedition to Antarctica. In regards to his professional life, Wayne held various positions throughout the years. He worked as a clerk at Cabot and later as a mechanic at Imperial Oil, where he embraced early retirement in 1992. Wayne’s final working days were spent as a driving instructor, a role he thoroughly adored. In retirement, he found solace in small woodworking projects, playing bridge, and nurturing his garden.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62, located at 266 Front St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, November 17th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family through “Wayne’s Guestbook” on mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com.
