Cameron Clowater

Cameron Clowater passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at the age of 88, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Joan, and his brother, David, after a brief illness. Born in Ludlow, NB on September 8, 1935, Cameron was married to Joan Clowater, and together they raised their three sons, Michael, Paul, and Mark. He is also survived by his brother, David Clowater, sister Joy Klein, seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Joyce Clowater, Allison Mowrey, and Shirley Gilks, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Cameron’s parents, Darold Clowater and Gretta (Carson) (Clowater) Arsenault, his mother-in-law, Vera McKinnon, his son, Stephen Clowater, his brother, Keith Leroy Clowater, his brother-in-law, George McKinnon, and his sister-in-law, Dawn O’Keefe, preceded him in death.

At the age of 17, Cameron enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and proudly served in various locations, including St. John’s, Que., Cold Lake, Alberta, Bagotville, Que., Marville, France, C.F.B. Chatham, Uplands, Ontario, and Summerside, P.E.I., where he retired from the military. He later returned to C.F.B. Gagetown in 1976 before transitioning to civilian life as B.G.S.O.

Family was of utmost importance to Cameron, and he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
