Carol (Prosser) WHEATON

1940 – 2024

Carol Elizabeth Wheaton, 83, of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, NB, formerly of Trites Road, Riverview NB, passed away on January 28, 2024, with her son by her side. Born in Prosser Brook, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Marie (Lane) Prosser.

Carol was employed at the T. Eaton Company and Creighan’s Ltd and was also a homemaker. She attended the Prosser Brook Baptist Church.

Carol enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting partridge, and working in her flower gardens. She loved to spend time with her close friends and family, often hosting family get togethers. She was an incredible cook. Her home-made bread and made- from-scratch birthday cakes were her specialties. Carol also loved shopping and fashion.

Carol enjoyed life and was truly kind and caring. She would do anything she could to help a friend, family, or neighbors and she would always be there when anyone was in need. She faithfully provided love and support, and her love was felt deeply by her family.

Carol will be sadly missed by her son Kevin (Michael) of Toronto, a very special niece and nephew, Dawn and Stephen DeCoste of Grande-Digue, her great-niece Erin DeCoste of New Zealand and great-nephew Alex DeCoste of Riverview.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne and Hanford (Hank) Prosser, one sister Cleta Steeves, and three half-brothers, Malcolm, Lawrence and John Prosser.

As it was difficult for Carol with the loss of Orlo, her soul mate and husband of 60 years, and with Kevin living far away from her, Kevin would especially like to thank the family who was there for his mother. Thank you to Dawn and Stephen DeCoste, who were like her own children, and who were always close by. Thank you for the love and support of Aunt Susan Prosser, Cousin Janice Mann and David Mann, who consistently provided support and company to her. Thanks as well to her cousins who organized get togethers at the nursing home that meant so much to her. Finally, a sincere thank you to the many other close friends and family that were there for Carol as well.

Kevin and family would also like to thank the wonderful, caring staff of the Evergreen wing at the Spencer home. Everything they did to support Carol and the family when Carol’s health was declining, and especially during her last days, was truly appreciated.

Final arrangements are entrusted to the care of Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007). Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Prosser Brook Cemetery.
