Carolyn Estey

Carolyn M. Estey, a resident of Zealand, NB, passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 81, at Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on July 22, 1942, in Zealand, NB, to the late Wentworth and Leonore Morehouse.

Throughout her life, Carolyn found joy in various activities. She loved cooking and took pride in preparing delicious meals, as well as baking homemade bread and desserts. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing games on her iPad, with Cookie Jam being her favorite. Additionally, Carolyn had a passion for quilting and devoted much of her time to creating beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren.

Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her children, Kelly Palmer (Carter) and Derrick Estey. She was a beloved grandmother to eight grandchildren: Cody (Liz), Nicholas (Chelsea), Chelsey (Ralph), Katelyn (Alek), Alex, Marissa (Will), Venessa (Brian), and Greg (Brianna). Her six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Waylon, Vince, Lincoln, Lily, and Bruce, brought her immense joy. Carolyn is also survived by her two brothers, Perry Morehouse (Debbie) and Angus Morehouse, as well as three sisters, Rose Brewer, Marlene Brewer, and Betty Brewer (Otis). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell Estey, her daughter Virginia Stairs, and two brothers-in-law, Myles Brewer and Luke Brewer. Carolyn was also deeply saddened by the loss of her loyal canine companion, Sophie, her beloved dog.

The family will be receiving friends and loved ones for visiting hours on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Stone Ridge Pentecostal Church, located at 129 Upper Stone Ridge Road, Zealand, NB. A funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Hubert Perkins. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Zealand Community Cemetery.
