Catherine Jane Clark-Armstrong, age 67, passed away on September 25, 2023, at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, after a brave and lengthy struggle with cancer. Cathy is survived by her daughter Victoria (Jason Smith), her son Tyler, and her grandchildren William (Liam) Smith and Emerson Smith. She will be deeply missed by her mother Sheila Clark, her twin Judith Pace, her siblings Jan McCue (Tom), Bill Clark (Renee), and Karen LeBlanc. Cathy was a beloved aunt to Matthew, Michael, Nathaniel, Emily, Sean, Josh, Daniel, and Alexa. She will always be remembered with love and fondness by many friends and colleagues, including her lifelong friends Frank McKitterick and Nancy Bye. Cathy was predeceased by her parents William and Ora Clark, her nephew Zachary, and her brother-in-law Finn Nielson.

Born on May 27, 1956, in Peterborough, Ontario, to William and Ora (Wilson) Clark, Cathy graduated from Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute in 1975. She was honored as Head Girl during her time there. Cathy pursued a career in nursing, graduating from Nursing School in 1978. She worked in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and later at Grand River Hospital. After her nursing career, she joined PIB/RWAM insurance in Elmira, Ontario, where she remained until her retirement. Cathy will be remembered for her warm smile, her sense of humor, her quick wit, and how she deeply loved and cared for her family and friends.

Cremation has already taken place, and arrangements were entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home. As per Cathy’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Grand River Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Cathy’s battle. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Grand River Hospital Foundation.
