Charles George Hamilton, also known as Chuck, passed away on September 17th, 2023, surrounded by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Hamilton, and their loving family. Chuck was born on January 18, 1939, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to George and Hilda Hamilton. Hockey was always a significant part of Chuck’s life, starting with his time in Minor League Hockey in Kirkland Lake and Junior A in Peterborough. He was eventually drafted by the Montreal Canadiens and represented Canada internationally. After playing for various teams, Chuck transitioned into coaching and became a legendary figure in the Hershey Bears organization, earning a spot in their Hall of Fame. After retiring from hockey, Chuck enjoyed a successful career as a Sales Rep for Amp Incorporated before settling down in Punta Gorda, Florida. He will be remembered as a man who cherished his family and enjoyed simple pleasures like fishing and spending time in nature.

Chuck leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and incredible accomplishments. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Hamilton, and their children Geordie Hamilton, Graham Hamilton, and Kim Siefker. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren. Chuck’s infectious smile and mischievous glint in his eyes brought joy to the lives of his friends and loved ones. He and Barbara had a unique ability to forge lifelong friendships with their neighbors, often spending evenings and weekends hosting gatherings filled with storytelling and homemade meals. Chuck’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of loving him and being loved by him.

As we say goodbye to Chuck, let us remember him not with tears, but with the contagious smiles and laughter he brought into our lives. May he find eternal peace as he is honored as a legend, a friend, and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
