Cynthia GIBBS
Cynthia June Gibbs, formerly known as June Denslow, passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on October 15, 2023, at the age of 90. Surrounded by her loving husband David and daughter Kim, June succumbed to heart failure. She is survived by her husband David, son Chris (Andjelka), daughter Kim (Brian), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Billee (Carlos), Marko, Maya, and Kate.
June was born on March 6, 1933, in a village in Somerset, UK. Growing up, she had two older sisters, Joan and Joyce, who tragically passed away before her. In 1953, June and David joined the Somerset Constabulary as British Bobbies before embarking on a new chapter and immigrating to Canada in 1958. During her working years, June dedicated her time to security at Eaton’s, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered.
From a young age, June found joy in singing and became an active member of various church choirs, including the St. Andrew’s Newton Presbyterian. Her infectious smile and sense of humor brought light to every room, particularly during card games. Family meant the world to June, and she adored her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Additionally, June always had a special place in her heart for her feline companions, ensuring she had at least one by her side throughout her life. June and David’s love story began in 1951, resulting in 72 wonderful years of marriage filled with loyalty, reliability, and true friendship.
Cynthia June Gibbs will be remembered for her unwavering faithfulness, her lively spirit, and the warmth she shared with all those fortunate enough to have known her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
