It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darell Ezra Parker, who passed away at the age of 65. Darell was a beloved husband to Jane for 43 years and a cherished father to Heather (Chris) St. Clair and Jessica (Justin) VanderTuin. As a doting grandfather to Alice and Leah, he brought immense joy to their lives. Darell was the loving son of Marjorie and the late Harold Parker, and son-in-law of Fay and the late Edward Gray. He is survived by his siblings Terry (Inger) Parker, Pam (Bill) Bancroft, Darlene (late Greg) Clemens, and late Shawn (Sherry) Parker.

Darell dedicated his life to serving his community and his family. He was a highly committed public servant in the Town of Ingersoll and Oxford County. Darell served as a member of the Ingersoll Fire Service for an impressive 33 years and held the esteemed position of Fire Chief for 23 of those years. Additionally, he served as Fire Chief of the Township of Norwich for 12 years. Darell’s devotion to public service extended beyond firefighting, as he eventually rose to the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Ingersoll. He retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and dedication.

A private family service will take place at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on September 1 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Carriage House at the Elm Hurst Inn, where family and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Sakura House or Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
