Darin SCANZANO

Darin Scanzano, a beloved individual, passed away on September 29, 2023, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer that lasted for three years. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. Remembered by his two children, Dana and Matthew, his brother Perry, sister Lorie Ann, his nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends, Darin also leaves behind his cherished companion, Daisy, his loyal dog. Originally from Montreal, Darin’s journey took him to various corners of the world, including Calgary, Sydney (Australia), and finally settling in Oakville where he raised his children and formed lasting connections.

Having obtained his degree from Concordia University, Darin ventured into the insurance industry, establishing a remarkable career that spanned across different locations, starting from Toronto and extending globally. Tragically, Darin received his cancer diagnosis in December 2020, closely following the passing of his wife, Diane, with whom he shared over three decades of marital bliss. Although we greatly mourn his departure, we take solace in knowing that he has now found peace and has been reunited with our mother.

Those who wish to pay their respects will have the opportunity during the visitation scheduled on Thursday, October 5, at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home on 64 Lakeshore Road West in Oakville. The visitation will take place from 3-5 p.m. and then again from 7-9 p.m. Furthermore, a service is arranged to be held on Friday, October 6, at 11 a.m., exclusively for close friends and family members. A reception will follow shortly after at the same venue. Instead of floral tributes, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated medical staff at OTMH for their exceptional care throughout Darin’s unwavering battle against the illness.

Rest in peace, dear Darin. You will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered by all whose lives you touched.
