David Angus Sim, age 81, peacefully departed from this world on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. He was a beloved husband to Margaret (Moir) Sim and a cherished father to Jennifer (Steve) and Viki (Mike). He leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Addison and Olivia. Survived by his dear siblings, Ian and Evelyn, Norman and Elaine, and Cathie (Sim) Alexander, he will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Born on December 17th, 1941, in Inverness, Scotland, David was the son of the late David and Fiona (MacLeod) Sim. Throughout his life, he worked as a truck driver. Initially, he transported trailers and eventually transitioned to hauling cars. David was not only a licensed mechanic but also maintained his license after retiring. He did so in order to assist his friends with their vehicles. Cars held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed both fixing and driving them. Additionally, David had a passion for dancing and storytelling, but above all, he treasured his family. Following his wishes, there will be no service at this time, and cremation has already been conducted. The Williams Funeral Home, located at 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, is overseeing the arrangements.

He commenced his career transporting trailers and later transitioned to delivering cars. Besides being an accomplished driver, David was also a licensed mechanic. Even after retirement, he maintained an active license to assist his friends with their automotive needs. His love for cars was undeniable, as he greatly enjoyed both fixing and driving them. However, his true passion lied in his family, as David held a deep affection for them. Following his specific requests, there will be no service held at this time. Cremation has already taken place.
