David Charles Ayre, a resident of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on July 22, 2023, at the age of 77. He valiantly battled Parkinson’s disease for 24 years after being diagnosed at the age of 53, showing immense strength and perseverance throughout his struggle. David was a multi-faceted individual who found joy in various aspects of his life, including his home, work, road trips, and Pigeon Lake. As he was fondly remembered, his wife Alyce and son, David Jr., express their sincerest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Lifestyle Options Leduc for their unwavering care and support during the last two years of David’s life.

Instead of offering floral arrangements, the family kindly requests generous donations to be made to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC) at 403-946-2361. David had a deep concern for the well-being of wildlife, particularly those affected by the devastating fires which led to their displacement. Supporting AIWC ensures that their vital work in protecting and conserving Alberta’s wildlife continues to make a difference.

David Charles Ayre’s life was marked by resilience, love, and compassion. Through his enduring strength in the face of Parkinson’s disease, he leaves behind a legacy of bravery and determination. His memory lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
