David OLSON

David William Olson, a resident of St. Thomas, peacefully passed away at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 73. He was the cherished husband of the late Linda Hanagan and a loving father to Jason Olson (Jennifer) and Jody Martel (Robert). David was also a proud grandfather to Ryan and Derek Olson and Pyper Martel. He will be greatly missed by his dear siblings Wayne and Beverley (Murray), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born on December 1, 1949, in St. Thomas, David was the son of the late Kenneth and Edith (Bell) Olson. During his youth, he proudly served with the Elgin Regiment and later worked at C.N. Railway.

A heartfelt tribute to David’s life will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home on 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Prior to the service, visitors will have the opportunity to pay their respects between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Cremation has already occurred, and David’s ashes will be laid to rest in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. For those wishing to honor his memory, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of their choice.

The celebration of David’s remarkable life will be held on August 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, located on 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Friends and family may gather to pay their final respects prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Cremation has been completed, and his ashes will find their resting place in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. In honor of his memory, those who wish to make a difference can offer donations to a charity close to their hearts.
