David Saunders, a resident of Quispamsis, passed away peacefully on September 26th at the age of 66, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. David, born on January 1st, 1954, was the beloved son of Alden and Jean Saunders. He dedicated his entire life to his property on the Chamberlain Road, where he took pride in raising farm animals and tending to his gardens.

David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty Saunders, and their children, Kevin (Chrissy), Krissy (Matthew) Creamer, Kathy (Joe) Smith, as well as his two cherished granddaughters, Addison and Avery. Additionally, he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. David is preceded in death by his brothers, Ossie Saunders, Donnie Saunders, Billy Clark, and his sister Barbara McQuinn.

For 27 years, David dedicated his time to driving a school bus, alongside running a successful cedar sawmill business that he established from scratch. In his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of hunting and racing stock cars at the Hammond River Raceway. Known for his determination, he fearlessly took on challenging projects, ranging from motors to mini homes. Those fortunate enough to be around him benefited from the wisdom and stories he shared from his own life experiences.

Following his wishes, there will be no visitation. A private burial will be held at a later date. However, a celebration of David’s life will occur on October 15th at the Meenan’s Cove Beach House, 199 Model Farm Road, Quispamsis NB, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
