ECKERT, Dennis Daryl

Born July 28, 1962 in Regina, Saskatchewan cherished husband, father, son, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on March 9, 2024, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

Raised in Regina, Dennis graduated from O’Neill High School but he was a country boy at heart. He moved to Pangman the day he graduated, with his friend and uncle, Cliff. He worked and lived with Cliff, having a cement business for a couple of years and driving truck. A few years later, he started with SaskPower/Energy in Regina and spent over 35 years with the company. He enjoyed the heavy equipment operating, later became a welder and then a foreman.

Whether it was a canoe trip up north, taking the boys hunting, or having a coffee with the dogs and Bev, Dennis lived a quiet life. His greatest joy was meeting his grandchildren. He also loved shooting, quading, snowmobiling, camping, spending time at Pangman, and at Weekes with his buddies. His knowledge of guns and reloading was incredible. He strongly opposed recent gun law changes and bans that do not further gun safety.

Dennis was predeceased by his father, George Eckert, and father-in-law, Barry Armstrong. He is lovingly missed by his wife Bev of 37 years, sons Justin (Kayla), Jeremy (Emily), Kurtis (Dominique), and Derek (Margaret), mother Lorraine, brother Wes (Dawn), mother-in-law Doreen Armstrong, brother-in-law Brad Armstrong, grandchildren Cole, Mia, Jack and Harrison, and cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Although he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May Dennis rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was loved deeply and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. We will all miss the grandkids sitting on grandpa’s knee, saying “Good snag” to the dogs catching the ball. And “Pa, big truck!” We miss you Dennis!

His wishes were to have a small, private family celebration at a later date.Condolences may be left at:
