Digby KIER

Digby Kier, a well-respected federal prosecutor, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2023, in Vancouver, BC at the age of 87. Born on June 17, 1936, in Victoria, BC, Digby experienced a unique childhood in a Caycuse logging camp on Lake Cowichan, where his parents, Josephine and William, were farmers. Coincidentally, this camp was situated near the area with the highest rainfall in North America.

After completing his education at the University of British Columbia, Digby dedicated over 50 years to his legal career as a federal prosecutor. He made significant contributions to the establishment of numerous environmental laws that we benefit from today. His commitment and accomplishments in this field were truly commendable, earning him the reputation of an accomplished lawyer.
