Donald Alexander Chorney, known as Don, passed away peacefully at Belleville General Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Jean Chorney (née Clarke) for an incredible 54 years. Don was a loving son to Thomas and Jeanette Chorney and will be deeply missed by his brother, Robert Chorney, his sister-in-law, Catherine, and his extended family, including Laura Chorney, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sadly, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Dan Chorney, and sister-in-law, Elaine.

Don was a dedicated father to his children, Dwight Chorney (Donna), Alison Dubien (Dwayne), late Drew Chorney (Kandi), Shawn Chorney (Jessica), and Dawna Chorney (Kyle Collins). He adored his grandchildren, Thomas, Benjamin, Owen, Grace, Madilyn, Quinton, Alexander, Katelyn, Austin, Sebastian, Ayden, and Annabelle Thomason.

A Celebration of Life to honor Don’s memory will be held at a later date, in accordance with his wishes. The family kindly requests that donations be made to the BGH Foundation “ICU Dept.” in lieu of flowers.
