He was a devoted husband to Carolyn (nee Jones) for an incredible 56 years. Don was a caring father to Tim Dufour (Colleen), Tammy Dufour-Rickeard (Butch), and Tina Dufour-Ringler. He took great pride in being a loving Papa to Candice, Dayne, and Emma Dufour, Kason and Kohen Rickeard, as well as Easton and Chase Ringler. Additionally, he filled the roles of Step-Papa to Chris (Kaitlyn) and Brett (Charlie) Maitre, and Step-Great-Papa to Jaxon, Wyatt, Zayden, and Parker Maitre. Don was preceded in death by his sister Cecilia Edwards (Gerry), Shirley Houle (Charlie), Larry Dufour (Annette), Joyce Deschamps (Hector), and Fred Dufour (Elaine). He is survived by his sister Betty DeBlois (Bernard), Harvey Dufour (Linda), and Garnet Dufour (Joyce). Don will also be remembered by his in-laws Larry Jones (Jo-Ann), Lonnie Jones (Shona), Philip Jones (Denise), Jean Voligny (Martial), and JoAnne Shaw (Jim). As a hardworking and proud self-employed contractor, Don lived life to the fullest, constantly cherishing moments with family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 26, with visitation at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. in Essex.
