Donald Lawrence Spady

Donald Spady, a resident of Spruce Grove, peacefully passed away at the age of 83 on September 25th, while surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 10th, 1940, in Edmonton to Gladys and Henry Spady, Donald led a fulfilling life. On July 19th, 1963, he married Marion Bownes and together they had two children, David Spady and Diane Chakaipa.

Donald was a dedicated and accomplished business owner for over five decades until his retirement in 2010. However, his true passion lied in outdoor activities. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who found joy in boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and golfing. Additionally, he actively played hockey for numerous years, further showcasing his love for sports and an active lifestyle.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife Marion, his children David (Karla) and Diane (Chris), as well as his grandchildren Jonathon, Zachary, Dylan, Amanda, and Emily. He also leaves behind his sister Kathleen Kirkwood. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Henry Spady, as well as his siblings Gerry Spady and Les Spady.

A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at The Links at Spruce Grove on November 5th, 2023, from 2-4pm, where family, friends, and loved ones will gather to honor his memory and cherish the wonderful times they shared together.
