Donald William Samms, aged 66, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2023, at Kingston Health Sciences. He is survived by his loving partner and best friend, Kim Elliott, with whom he shared 22 years of companionship. Donald was the beloved son of Julia Dorcas Samms, and he was preceded in death by his father, Edward. He took great pride in being a stepfather to Tania McLean Mitchell and a grandfather to Malorie and David (Kaelly) Mitchell. He was also a dear brother-in-law to Michael and Dawn McLean. Sadly, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Edward. He will always be remembered by his best friends Chris (Radar) McChayne and Kim Milks, as well as numerous friends and family members. Donald’s passion for Nascar racing, playing the guitar, and enjoying a cold beer brought him great joy throughout his life. The family has chosen cremation, and a graveside service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday November 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend. During his lifetime, he worked for the City of Kingston and found joy in Nascar racing, playing the guitar, and spending time with a cold beer.
