Donna Ward

Donna Marie Ward, a resident of Maugerville, NB, passed away on October 29, 2023, at the age of 82. Born on June 27, 1941, in Saint John to the late Monie (Margaret) Davis, she later became a chosen daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Clark of Lakeville Corner. Donna is survived by her son David Ward (Ann) of Fredericton, her daughter Debbie Ward (Conrad) of Moncton, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald (Bud) Alfred Ward, son Robert Weston Ward, and long-time special friend Mae Burtt. Donna’s final resting place will be at the Maugerville Baptist Cemetery, where she will join her husband and son.

Throughout her life, Donna worked as a School Custodian at both the Maugerville School and the Gibson Memorial School in Marysville. In her leisure time, she enjoyed activities such as solving jigsaw puzzles, gardening, quilting with the Maugerville Women’s Institute, and knitting for her grandchildren. Unfortunately, her beloved budgie birds could not accompany her when she moved into a Seniors Apartment. However, her favorite bird, Buddy, continues to thrive under the care of Traci and Chris in PEI.

Family moments were incredibly important to Donna, and she cherished the gatherings with her loved ones. Additionally, she valued her time spent with the Maugerville Women’s Institute, engaging in quilting sessions, organizing suppers, or simply engaging in heartfelt conversations.

Arrangements for Donna’s services have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation, and a graveside service will be held at the Maugerville Baptist Cemetery on November 4 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Heart & Stroke or Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be submitted at http://www.mcadamsfh.com.
