Doreen WALKER

Doreen Walker, who was in her ninetieth year, passed away on August 21, 2023 in London, Ontario. She was born on November 5, 1933 in Victoria Harbour, Ontario to parents Paul and Stephanie Legree. Doreen attended Midland High School and later worked as a Bell telephone operator. On September 29, 1956, she married James Walker and together they had two children. In 1965, they relocated to Woodstock, where Doreen worked as a switchboard operator at Woodstock General Hospital. She is survived by her husband James, her daughter Nancy McFarlane of Strathroy, and her son David of Calgary. Doreen was a cherished grandmother to James, Paul, Stephanie, Ashton, Andrew, and Connor, and she was also a proud great-grandmother to seven. She was preceded in death by her parents Napoleon and Stephanie, her brothers Bernard and Telesphore, and her sister Isobel Feeley. Doreen will be remembered for her quick wit, ability to make people laugh, and her love of singing. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Doreen’s passion for traveling, horse races, casinos, and bingos added to the richness of her life.
