Doris McKinnon

Doris (Trowbridge) McKinnon, aged 95, passed away at her home on November 1st, 2023, in Miramichi, New Brunswick. She was born in Chatham, New Brunswick on March 16th, 1928, to Joseph and Jane (Cable) Trowbridge. Doris worked as an RNA at Mount St. Joseph until her retirement. She is survived by her brother, John (Jack) (Myrtle) Trowbridge, as well as her children: Joseph, Carolyn (Richard) Jardine, and Joan (Ray) Hatchard. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, her son, Gerald “Gerry,” her siblings, and her daughters-in-law.

Doris valued being active and enjoyed walking. Even after moving to Howe Residence on Harper Road, she continued to walk with the aid of a walker. She also frequently participated in a swimming group at the Golden Hawk facility. Doris was fortunate to have caring neighbors in the Vanstone Avenue area and felt content at Howe Residence. The family expresses gratitude towards Lois Foran and the staff at Howe Residence for their kindness and dedication. They are also thankful for the support provided by Dr. Kris and the Extra-Mural team over the years.

The family has decided not to hold a visitation. Instead, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Basilica in Miramichi on November 7th at 11 AM. Doris will be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Michael’s Basilica Building Fund are appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd. in Miramichi.
