Dorothy Ida Poley

Dorothy passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband, Graydon, and her daughter, Karen. She is survived by her children Barry Poley (Tracie), Diane Carrier (Chris), and Cheryl Paterson (Ken), as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Dorothy was a devoted member of her church and drama club. She met Graydon in 1945, and they were married for 65 years, living in Ontario for much of their lives. Dorothy became a believer in her 50s and was dedicated to her faith, finding comfort and guidance in the Bible.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was known for her selfless nature and her talents as a seamstress and baker. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, and other outdoor activities, even into her later years. Dorothy lived independently for several years before moving to a retirement home and then a specialized care facility.

Dorothy passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 98. After a life of faith, love, and service to others, she is now at peace with her Lord. Following her wishes, a private family Celebration of Life will be held in 2024 to honor Dorothy’s memory.
