Dorothy OTTO
Dorothy Otto of Tillsonburg passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023, at the age of 65. Surrounded by her loving family at the VON Sakura House in Woodstock, Dorothy’s legacy will be remembered by all who knew her. She was born on February 10, 1958, in Cobourg, Ontario, to the late Annie May Knox (1996) and John Alexander Knox (2003). Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Doug Otto, but is survived by her second husband Doug Robertson. She was a beloved mother to Owen and Matthew Otto. Dorothy is also survived by her siblings Carole, Ralph, Lorne, Barbara, Donald, Reginald, Linda, Marlene, and Jacqueline, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth in October 2001.
Dorothy will always be remembered for her heart of gold and determined spirit. She was a fiercely stubborn individual, always making sure that everyone was okay and putting their needs before her own. Dorothy had a successful Subway business and was an inspiration to those around her, encouraging them to achieve success in life. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she was always there for her boys till the very end. Dorothy also had a passion for painting and enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones. Her presence will be deeply missed.
A Public Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes-Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel in Tillsonburg. This will be followed by a Public Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the same location, officiated by Chaplain Tina Dias.
