With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Dorothy May Taillefer on July 25th, 2023 at Pioneer Manor. Dorothy fought a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s and was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments. She was the cherished wife of Edmond Taillefer, who preceded her in death in 1991. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love as the adored mother of Eddie (Carol), Pauline Spencer (Roger), Gerald (Cathy), Michael (Michelina), Darlene Lefebvre (Marcel), Norman (Carole), and Kerry Ann Bruley (Rene). She was a beloved grandmother to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In Dorothy’s presence, laughter was abundant, even when humor was not intended. Her strong will and competitive nature made her an unbeatable force, especially in card games with her beloved grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. Dorothy taught them the value of giving their all and winning without regrets. She possessed immense strength and determination, inspiring all those who knew her to face life’s challenges with fortitude. Overflowing with happy memories, Dorothy’s infectious smile and vibrant personality touched the lives of many. She was a truly unique individual whose absence will be deeply felt and forever missed.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses and personal support workers at Pioneer Manor. Their unwavering care ensured Dorothy’s safety, comfort, and a life filled with love during her time there. Visitation will not be held, and a private family interment will take place at Garson Cemetery, where Dorothy will rest beside her beloved husband, Edmond. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society are kindly appreciated. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
