Duncan Sinclair

Dr. Duncan Wilfrid Sinclair of Aylmer peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his family at his home during his final moments. Dr. Sinclair was married to Margaret (Scandrett) Sinclair for 63 remarkable years and was a devoted father to Kathy Sinclair of Ladner, British Columbia, Jane Knauer (Jeff) of Ladner, British Columbia, and Duncan Sinclair (Dana) of Aylmer. He was also a beloved grandfather to Ben and Meghan, affectionately known as “Bapa” to Coll. Dr. Sinclair was a cherished sibling to Mary Stickel (late Charles) and Don Sinclair (Betty). Sadly, he was predeceased by his son David (1970) and brother-in-law Bruce Scandrett (late Sarilee).

Born on May 25, 1936, in St. Thomas, Ontario, Duncan Wilfrid Sinclair was the son of Dr. Charles and Mary (Brown) Sinclair. Throughout his life, Dunc found joy in his family, faith, medical profession, patients, community, friends, and dedication to environmental causes. Although he may no longer be physically present, his spirit and the wisdom he shared will forever reside in the hearts of those he touched. Dunc will be dearly missed and fondly remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Visitation will take place at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home in Aylmer on Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., as well as on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Aylmer Cemetery. Duncan Wilfrid Sinclair made his entrance into the world on May 25, 1936, in St. Thomas, Ontario. His parents, Dr. Charles and Mary (Brown) Sinclair, raised him to value family, faith, and his community. In addition to his medical career, Dr. Sinclair had a passion for environmental causes. He wholeheartedly embraced life and touched many with his kindness and wisdom. Although Dunc’s physical presence may be absent, his spirit will forever resonate in the lives of those he impacted. He will be eternally remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
