Edna DENT

Edna May Dent, aged 94, peacefully passed away on October 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Bluewater Health. She was the beloved wife of Jack Dent, who passed away in 2015, and their marriage lasted for an impressive 62 years. Edna was a devoted mother to Ann Dent (David Hally), John (Halimatou) Dent, and Martha (Thom) Brunet. She was also a cherished Gran to Katy (Ben) Hartling, David, Morgan and James Hally, Michael, Elizabeth, John (Chantal Kipfer) and Jamilah Dent, Hannah (Tyler Ellis), and Rachel Brunet. Additionally, Edna was a proud Great-Gran to Andrew and Alexander Hartling. Her sister, Louise (née Stoddart) Edmonds, sister-in-law Carole (née Dent) Howell, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors will all dearly miss her.

During her professional life, Edna worked as a registered nurse at the Chatham-Kent and Lambton Public Health Units for an impressive 33 years. Aside from her dedication to her career, she found joy in family gatherings, playing bridge, and tending to her garden. A service honoring Edna’s life will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Grace United Church in Sarnia, located at 990 Cathcart Blvd. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation at 1:00 p.m. for friends and family, with a reception to follow.
