Elizabeth “Betty” Washburn

Elizabeth “Betty” Washburn, 89, of Fredericton, NB, passed away on Sunday November 5th, 2023 at Neill Hall. She was born in Fredericton, the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Goodine) Owens.

Betty worked at NB Power for several years and was known for her loving and caring nature. She found joy in tending to her beautiful garden and spending time with her many coffee friends at the mall. She also cherished the time she spent at her family home in Blackville and enjoyed salmon dinners there.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as special friends Rob, Rachel, Grace Doherty, and Shawna Freeman. Betty was predeceased by her husband Johnny Washburn, as well as her three sisters, Beatrice Callagan, Helen Collett, Dorothy Lawrence, and two brothers Johnny and Fred Owens.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 10th, 2023, from 1-2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, followed by interment in the Hermitage Cemetery.
