Elizabeth GIESBRECHT

Elizabeth Giesbrecht (nee Ens) was born on July 7, 1945, and peacefully passed away in her home on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Elizabeth Ens, her husband Jake, and her brother Isaac Ens. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Don (Erdine) Giesbrecht, Darryl (Jody) Giesbrecht, and Debbie (Lionel) Richard, as well as her seven grandchildren and spouses, and five great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth, fondly known as Mom, will always be remembered for her joyful and outgoing personality. She had a deep passion for music and dancing, which brought smiles to everyone around her. As a strong matriarch, she was the pillar that held her family together. Additionally, she had cherished friendships with many residents in her building and would spend countless hours engaging in meaningful conversations on the lanai.

Despite a courageous battle with lung cancer and COPD, Mom’s spirit remained unyielding. Her fondness for Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender” will forever linger in our hearts. We take solace in knowing that she has become our guardian angel, reuniting with Dad in the realms of Heaven.

In accordance with Elizabeth’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. Instead, those who wish to pay tribute to her memory are encouraged to make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society by dialing 1-800-268-8874.
