Elizabeth SCARDINA

Elizabeth (Liz) Scardina (nee Fulde), our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 20, 2023. Surrounded by her son Michael, Liz left this world, leaving behind a profound sadness in our hearts. Born on February 8, 1939, in Rypin, Poland, to Helene and Wilhelm Fulde, Liz immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1949. In December of that year, her family settled in Richmond, where they devoted themselves to building a good life and becoming proud Canadian citizens. Liz completed her education at Richmond Senior Secondary in 1958 and pursued a secretarial degree at VVI. It was during her work at Crown Zellerbach that she met Richard, her husband-to-be. They married in 1960 after Richard returned to university, and together they raised three children: Capri, Michael, and Simone.

Liz will always be remembered for her immense love for her dear friends and hosting delightful gatherings in her home. Her involvement in her ethnic community held a special place in her heart. Liz found joy in her trips to Palm Springs and cherished moments spent at their cottage in Caine Lake with close friends. She had a green thumb and tended to her beloved garden. However, above all else, Liz was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, cherishing her family and creating a loving home.

Preceded in death by her parents Helene and Wilhelm Fulde, as well as her sister Christa, Liz leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Richard, her children Capri, Michael (Michelle), and Simone, and her grandchildren Nicola, Ava, Keenan, Ethan, Lachlan, and Ty. On July 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., a burial service will take place at Sunnyside Graveyard in Surrey, BC. Following the service, a reception will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Victory Memorial Park and Funeral Centre, also in Surrey, BC. In memory of Liz Scardina, donations can be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, with flowers being respectfully declined.

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our cherished Elizabeth (Liz) Scardina (nee Fulde). She will forever be remembered for her boundless love, warm hospitality, and unwavering commitment to her family. May her soul find eternal peace.
