Emilien CLICHE

Emilien J.P. Cliche, affectionately known as Emile, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, at the age of 71 in Woodstock, Ontario. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on March 9, 1952, in Bellecombe, Quebec, Emile’s warm heart, creativity, and selflessness will always be remembered and cherished by those whose lives he touched.

Emile was the son of the late Jean Gerrish, who passed away in 2013. His love story with his wife Anne, affectionately known as Annie, was one that inspired those around them. Together, they cultivated a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and music. Emile took great pride in being a devoted father to his children Aaron, Chantel, and Victoria, and a doting grandfather to Adrian, Liam, Layla, Harry, Sebastian, and Atlas. He held his extended family members, nieces, nephews, and cousins dear to his heart.

While Emile had several talents and interests, his passion for animals, particularly his beloved dog Sakima, and his love for music shone the brightest. He was an exceptionally gifted musician and generously shared his talent, bringing happiness and harmony to the world. Emile’s performances not only showcased his skill but also mirrored his generous spirit and the joy he derived from bringing joy to others.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, August 1, at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 2, from 12-2 p.m., followed by a service celebrating Emile’s life in the funeral home chapel. Cremation will proceed accordingly. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to commemorate Emile’s memory may make donations to the Family Transitions Program at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock.

Emile Cliche will always be remembered as a beacon of kindness, creativity, and generosity. His spirit will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known him, leaving a lasting legacy of love and compassion.
