Evelyn (Lyn) Malvena Pollard (born Evelyn Talefich) was born on August 19, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, to her beloved parents Evelyn and Mike Talefich. After a life filled with love and purpose, Lyn peacefully passed away on September 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old at the time of her passing.

Lyn was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend made her an irreplaceable presence. Her absence will forever be felt by those who knew her.

Survived by her devoted husband, Bob, whom she shared 50 years of treasured memories and unwavering love, Lyn exemplified the true meaning of a lifelong partnership. Together, they served as a shining example of love and commitment to all who were fortunate enough to know them.

Lyn’s dedication extended beyond her role as a wife. She was a loving mother to her three sons, Ian (Mody), Kyle (Sarah), and Neil (Meghan). Lyn’s unconditional love and unwavering support made her not only a mother but also a confidante and mentor to her children. Her greatest joy in life came from her eight adoring grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Nathaniel, Ryan, Rhys, Leigha, Thomas, Natasha, Keira, and Rowin were the lights of her life, and she took great pleasure in watching them grow and celebrating their accomplishments.

Lyn’s impact was not limited to her family. She was a pillar of strength to her siblings, Michael (Roberta) and Margie, and a loyal friend to many. Her kindness, generosity, and warm-hearted nature left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Beyond her personal relationships, Lyn also had a deep passion for life itself. Her infectious enthusiasm for the world around her inspired others to appreciate and celebrate the beauty that surrounded them.

As we bid farewell to Lyn, we choose to remember her not with sorrow but with profound gratitude for the love, joy, and warmth she brought into our lives. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate Lyn’s life will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Church, 10409 100 Ave, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 1Z3. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Lyn’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause that was dear to her heart.

Lyn’s legacy is a testament to the power of love, family, and the enduring bonds we share with one another. Though she will be deeply missed, she will never be forgotten. Let us join together in honoring the life of Evelyn (Lyn) Malvena Pollard, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and may she rest in eternal peace.
