Feby Annie Van Praet peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, at her residence on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the age of 98. She was the beloved wife of the late Remi Arthur Van Praet, who preceded her in 1998. Feby was a cherished mother and mother-in-law to Sandra and Irvin Ford, Lynn Ferwerda, Paul Denomme, Darlene Elliott and Jeff Bernhardt, Brady Van Praet and Sandra DeBruyne. She will always be remembered and missed by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Feby was also a dear sister-in-law to Dorinda Myers of Chatham, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, William Patrick and Adeline Myers, as well as her infant son Larry, son Chris, sons-in-law Tom Elliott and Peter Ferwerda, daughter-in-law Joyce Van Praet, and several siblings and in-laws.

In accordance with Feby’s wishes, she was cremated. A Celebration of Feby’s Life will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 498, in Grand Bend. The private interment will be held at Pinery Cemetery in Grand Bend. The T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home in Dashwood has been entrusted with the arrangements. Feby’s parents, William Patrick and Adeline Myers, had the joy of raising her, and she was preceded in death by her infant son Larry, son Chris, sons-in-law Tom Elliott and Peter Ferwerda, daughter-in-law Joyce Van Praet, siblings and in-laws Alcide and Jean Myers, Lawrence and Marie Myers, Wilfred and Annie Myers, Clarence Myers, Doris Myers, Irene Myers, Bernice and Leonard Crow, Vada and Tony Kearns, Bernard Myers, Arthur and Pat Van Praet, Joe Van Praet, Camiel and Maria Van Praet, Frank and Bobbye Van Praet (and Jim Perry), Ella and George Morrison, Cecilia and Bill Wood, Blanche and Frank Cabak, and Louise and Duncan Johnston.

Feby’s wish of being cremated has been fulfilled, and her life will be celebrated on August 30, 2023, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 498, in Grand Bend. Friends and family are invited to join the Celebration of Feby’s Life from 1pm to 4pm. Her remains will be privately interred at the Pinery Cemetery in Grand Bend. The T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home in Dashwood has expertly handled all the arrangements.
