Fenia Kocan Krywiak, a beloved mother, passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 95. Her peaceful end occurred at Residence Legault in Beaconsfield, where the caring and kind staff provided exceptional care, particularly during her final days. Fenia is survived by her daughters Orysia and Maria (Gerald Gudzio), her son Peter (Naz), and her grandchildren Larissa (Ray Arseneau), Christina (Steven Mucci), Pascale and Leneya (Adriano Santos), Armaan and Onjoli, and Andrew Goletz (Lisa). She was predeceased by her husband Petro and her daughter Olesia. Fenia was also cherished by her great-grandchildren Liam, Ethan, and Evan, as well as by her son-in-law Pete Goletz of Pennsylvania.
Originally from Wislok, Ukraine, Fenia emigrated to Montreal in 1949 as a young mother to join her father, who had already settled there. Fenia embraced motherhood and grandmotherhood with dedication, always ready to provide assistance, guidance, and love to her family. She excelled as a homemaker, enjoying family road trips, outdoor activities, and becoming skilled in Ukrainian embroidery. Fenia was an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League and was highly regarded as a kind friend in her beloved Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church.
Fenia took great pride in her children and grandchildren’s achievements, imparting to them the values of hard work and commitment for a fulfilling life. Her gentle nature and kindness will forever be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Condolences can be expressed on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Yves Legare Funeral Home in Lasalle. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church on Grand Trunk Street in Montreal. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Ukrainian Catholic Holy Ghost Church.
