Frances ELPHICK

Frances Elphick, a resident of Lucknow, passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Elphick in 2022. Frances is survived by her daughter, Donna Elphick, and her partner Greg Liddle of Goderich. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Irwin of New Market, Dorothy Harris of Australia, and Don Alton of Lucknow. Frances was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Bert Alton, granddaughter Jacqueline, brother Ken Alton, and sister Joanne Alton.

Fran had a deep affinity for nurturing all forms of life. Whether it was a tree, vegetable, calf, flower, duck, or lost lamb, Fran dedicated herself to caring for and ensuring their strength and vitality. She utilized her skills effectively and contributed to the community as a longstanding member of the Ripley Horticultural Society. Additionally, she served as a leader for the 4H Homemaking club. Fran’s passion for baking was evident through the countless pies she lovingly prepared and shared at the Sales Barn over the years. People from near and far would flock to the sales to savor a slice of Fran’s homemade pie, making it a delightful way to conclude their day.

During her later years, Fran found solace and fulfillment in activities such as baking, oil painting, and quilting. Her hands, which were always bustling with productivity, have now found eternal rest.
