Fred Ziegler, 88 years old, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2023, at Markham Stouffville Hospital. He was a beloved husband to Dawna and was considered her best friend. Fred was a loving father to his children Rick, Brian, and Cindy, and their spouses Karen, Christine, and Rod Brown respectively. He was a cherished Popa/Poppa/Papa to his grandchildren Karli, Jessica, Tyler, Emily, Spencer, Breanna, and Cassandra. Additionally, Fred was a proud great-grandfather to Wren, Ryder, and William. He is survived by his siblings Joyce, Merv, and Velma, and his sister-in-law Phyllis Ribey and Joan Waring. Fred was predeceased by his parents Roy and Hilda Ziegler, his sister Dorothy, his brother Kenny, and his in-laws Alex and Lillian Heard, as well as his brothers-in-law Murray Thede, Murray Ribey, Jim Ribey, and Bill Waring. Fred will be remembered for his gift of storytelling and his love for engaging in conversations and reminiscing with his loved ones. The family would like to extend their gratitude to their friends and neighbors for the support, condolences, and kind thoughts offered during this difficult time. Fred’s cremation has already taken place, and a family gathering will be held in the upcoming fall season.
